Question: What is the form DD 1172?
Answer: The DD Form 1172-2 form is used by the Department of Defense in the United States. This form is known as an Application for Information Card and DEERS Enrollment. DEERS stands for Defense Enrollment and Eligibility Reporting System.
Question: Where can I get a Copy of the applicant’s Application for Uniformed Services Identification Card Deers Enrollment (DD1172)?
Answer: The Application for Uniformed Services Identification Card Deers Enrollment (DD1172) can be obtained from the ID card office in the Sablich Center, 500 Fisher St, Keesler AFB
Question: What is a form DD 214?
Answer: Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, generally referred to as a "DD 214", is a document of the United States Department of Defense, issued upon a military service member's retirement, separation, or discharge from active-duty military.
I am retired, and can't find my DD-214. Where can I obtain another copy?

Question: Can I photocopy my military ID card?
Answer: No, the Keesler Spouses’ Club will not accept a copy a government issued military ID card.
Question: Where do I obtain proof of civilian employment?
Answer: cpms.osd.mil
Question: When is the last day I can submit my application?
Answer: The application must be postmarked on or before March 13, 2023
Question: Where can I get a copy of my SAT/ACT scores?
Answer: You can retrieve your SAT score from: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/scores.
You can retrieve your ACT score from: www.act.org
Your high school counselor should also have a copy of your score.
Question: My sponsor is stationed at Keesler AFB, but I don’t live in the counties listed. Can I still apply?
Answer: High school students and spouses must reside in the counties of Harrison, Hancock, or Jackson.
Students already enrolled in college - in their sophomore, junior, or senior year - do not need to reside in Harrison, Hancock, or Jackson county.
Question: What if I didn’t take the SAT or ACT?
Answer: The SAT/ACT score is a graded category in the scholarship packages. You may still apply for the scholarship; however, there is a deduction of points.
Question: Are contractors and their dependents eligible to apply?
Answer: No, contractors are not eligible for the scholarship.
Question: What if I am undecided if I will attend college?
Answer: You must be accepted into a college prior to receiving an award.
Question: What if I am not on my sponsor’s orders?
Answer: Your dependent status must be verified. Contact the KSC Scholarship Chairperson for additional requirements.
Question: When will I find out if I won a scholarship?
Answer: Applicants will be notified by April 01 if they have won a scholarship award.
Question: When will I find out how much I have won?
Answer: Award amounts will be announced at the scholarship banquet.
Question: What is the First Command Scholarship?
Answer: First Command is a Financial Services organization who donate an additional $1,000 scholarship to the top-ranking High School applicant who completes the requirement (an application and a brief financial course).
Question: If I attended multiple colleges, do I need transcripts from all of them?
Answer: Yes, a copy of all transcripts is required
